Pastor Joel Sutton

I’ve been a licensed pastor in the South Central District since 2010

and I enjoy digging deep into scripture and finding new and interesting ways to hear the stories in the Bible. Prior to answering my call to ministry, I spent 22+ years as a Fuels Technician in the U.S. Air Force.

I retired from service in 2009 and began my ministry as a certified supervised lay speaker for Lorimor, Macksburg, & Hebron UMC’s.

In 2011, Lorimor UMC realigned with Afton and Arispe UMC’s

to form the United Faith Parish in Union County where I served

for 8+ years. I’ve been active in the church for most of my life,

but as I began to really study scripture as a pastor, the more convinced I’ve become that my faith is not about me and what I believe.

It is about us, all of us, building relationships with one another and with our neighbors based on justice and compassion and humility.

The United Methodist Church is an 12.8-million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens minds and open doors through active engagement with our world. Manning United Methodist Church's vision statement is love God, love people, serve the world!

We invite you to worship with us Sunday mornings at 10:30am. Sunday School starts at 9:15am for Pre-school - 12th graders from September through April. Our Friday night service, called The Source, is a shorter, more contemporary service geared towards recovery issues.

There are many opportunities for worship, fellowship, and Christian growth! Come see what we're all about!
